Wow, the past couple of weeks I really have been here, there and everywhere with my recent travels. In today’s blog I want to talk about one of my most recent trip to Portugal, to visit the award-winning luxury collection resort ‘Pine Cliffs’. After a very busy couple of months a trip to a spa resort was just what I needed. A prime seafront location on the beautiful coastline of the Algarve, in Southern Portugal, the recently refurbished resort certainly did not disappoint offering several restaurants, perfect selfie spots and lots of leisure facilities making it the perfect place to visit to relax and enjoy the amazing views and weather Portugal has to offer.

Where to Eat;

Piri Piri Steak House

Our first night we dined at the Piri Piri Steak House. I highly recommend the crab cakes for your appetiser, the waiter insisted they were the best on the Island, to be honest he did say that about every dish ha-ha. Piri Piri Steak House offers a unique selection of prime meats and the steak I had for my main was grilled to perfection.

Jardim Colonial

Each morning we enjoyed a variety of foods from the breakfast buffet. Jardim Colonial is the main hotel restaurant and also offers a evening fresco dining in its courtyard which is filled with lots of personality and character.

Zest

Being a regular Instagrammer, finding that perfect spot to take a photo of some delicious foods is sometimes hard to come by. Zest is one of the resorts popular new hot spots offering healthy and fresh home made juices and salads. Going back to the point of finding the perfect Instagramable spots, well this is one of them. A modern white finish throughout made it very easy to create the perfect shot.

Corda Cafe

My last evening was spent at the Corda Cafe located poolside with beautiful garden settings. There was 4 of us on this trip and we loved the atmosphere at Corda Cafe. Live music was playing which really gave me that holiday feeling sitting outside enjoying a light meal over a few, ok many whiskeys.

Beach Club

My last day in the resort, the sun was shining and the perfect place to eat was down at the Beach Club restaurant. Overlooking the Atlantic Ocean, there was no better place to spend my final hours in Portugal. The Beach Club offers a variety of seafoods, meat dishes and to top it off the best chocolate cake I have ever had. You really couldn’t get a better view of the ocean while eating some delicious dishes.

What to do;

Serenity Spa

After a multi-million pound renovation the Serenity Spa has now been added to the resort. I have always been a huge fan of spa’s, I believe everyone needs some down time in their life. Sitting back, relaxin and letting someone pamper you for once is the best way to do it. I chose a facial and back massage for my two treatments and OMG it was insane. Even though I love going to the spa, I do at times find it very uncomfortable lying half naked with a complete stranger rubbing their hands all over you. The lady who looked after me took complete care in making sure any area’s I wanted to work on more where left by the end feeling brand new and they really did. I cant really comment on how the facial was as I was so relaxed I passed out after about 5 minutes, due to how relaxed I really felt. A week after the trip my back, which normally causes me grief on a day to day basis is feeling great and my face is looking better than ever.

As well as the treatments you can also enjoy the variety of other facilities the Serenity Spa has to offer. We was lucky enough to have 2 hours in the Aurum Suite which is designed to spoil and lavish yourself with walls made of gold, a steam room, sauna, jacuzzi, lounge area and of course we had champagne and strawberries which went down a treat. It really was a room of paradise.

We also spent some brief time in the Thermal Oasis sanctuary which is great to relax and re balance the mind, body and soul.

Gentlemen’s Tonic / Marcas Exclusivas

The last part I am going to talk about is the Marcac Salon which is located next to the Serenity Spa. Gentlemen’s Tonic is stocked exclusive in Portugal to the Pine Cliffs Resort. I decided to put my faith in the barbers hands and let him give my hair a little tidy up, which I normally wouldn’t do as I’ve been going to the same barbers in London for the past 3 years, however the staff certainly new what they were doing and he did a great job. I also had a full beard trim which left me leaving the salon feeling brand new.
