17th June 2016

Since starting my blog I have been counting down the days for LCM (London Collection Men) to start so I could get myself down to some of the fashion shows and events. It all kicked off on Friday when I popped into my agency to pick up my invites.

My first show was a presentation by Barbour showcasing some of their new SS17 Men’s Heriatage collection. The presentation had a great turn out also seeing some big fashion names such as Oliver Cheshire, Jim Chapman, Paul Sculfor, Johannes Huebl and Oliver Proudlock all popping in for a sneak preview. This season, the overall look that Barbour has gone for Is clean and effortlessly put together, with the repetitive use of international maritime signal flags on crew necks and shorts again nodding towards Barbour’s link to workers at sea. The theme extends to the accessories with stowaway bucket hats and a range of rucksacks and duffle bags, finishing off these looks with a simple white trainer from the SS17 Barbour footwear range.

My next event was a private dinner with Superdry and co hosted by the British Fashion Council. 85 exclusive guests including David Gandy and Johannes Huebl were invited to the brand’s International flagship store on Regents Street with champagne and cocktails on arrival. While seated enjoying a a dinner hosted by Balthazar, a slick presentation of Superdry’s new SS17 sports collection was shown. The new range is defiantly one to look out for with bursts of blue, lime green and signature orange on solid black, charcoal, white and navy to compliment the signature branded detail and gloss print graphics displayed on running shorts, lightweight bombers, vest and hoodies.

Day 2 kicked off with a great runway show from Agi & Sam showcasing their SS17 collection. The menswear collection saw patterns such as gingham and windowpane checks contrasted with floriated weaves, neckties and marigolds to add a sense of tradition and elegance and modernity.  This was my first runway show and I really enjoyed the atmosphere that they bring.

At night I attended the incredible ‘Now or Neverland’ party put on by Moet & Chandon. The event started with a split of two rooms, one with a Miami style pool scene with lifeguards, dancers and beach balls and a rotating bar, this gave me an opportunity to get my photograph taken by a renowned magnum photographer in a pop up studio. The second was a more elegant VIP room with a Moet vending machine and a area to play a spot of bowls. Later in the night, when it was in full swing a new room emerged with a more club feel with gold walls and DJ’s taking us through to 2pm. Unfortunately I didn’t take my camera to this event to capture how amazing this event was.

Day 3 I only had 1 runway show to attend which was for KTZ, I was really looking forward to this one as I had heard really great things about last years show.  I arrived with a friend and saw some incredible outfits that people had made themselves especially for the show. The collection was defiantly made to stand out with lots of raw energy and contemporary urban edge. The collection came in Black and white checkered patterns worn head to toe, splashed onto leggings, shorts, parkas and sweatshirts and even added onto the occasional face mask. The collection also saw lots of leather and metal added to complete the looks.

Day 4 and the final day of LCM started with a runway show from Songzio. I really enjoyed this show, every model had stunning bright blue eyes which I feel gave It a really unique feel and also tied in very well with the bright colours and graphic prints that were displayed on their new collection.

My last event was on the rooftop of the stunning Ham Yard Hotel, hosted by the Mr Porter team and really ended my first LCM experience with a bang. It was a great event with a really chilled out vibe and delicious food and drink. I also got gifted a beautiful bespoke piece of jewellery made by ‘Miansai’ Please check out these great photos of the event below, It truly was a a amazing event.
