You may have seen I recently took a trip to the Netherlands as I was invited to explore a cool little town called Eindhoven. I had never visited  Eindhoven before so I didn’t know what to expect, I was pleasantly surprised when I arrived to a small intimate town built up of everyday retails stores, lovely little boutiques and a town full of history.

We had a full day planned out for us by @AnotherCityTrip and to kick It all off we all met in the lobby of our beautiful hotel (The Inntel Art Hotel) with other bloggers from all over Europe. The first stop on our fun filled day was a trip to MLY to meet the owner who told us some background about the area and also gave us a fun activity to create our own pattern designs which really brought us together as a team and gave us some laughs at the same time when seeing some of our hilarious finished results (ok maybe just mine)

Once they had woken our brains up with creativity and a glass of coffee (Of course), we then walked down to a local ice-cream shop ‘Intelligentia ICE’ where we got to meet the owner who explained the vision he had for his very impressive and busy store. He also treated us to one of his delicious home made Ice creams.

After this we had some free time to mingle as a group and explore a small shopping area which had different boutique stalls selling customised shoes, home goods and some very cool vintage clothes. Shopping always manages to build up an appetite for me so I was very happy when I found out the next stop on our day was for lunch which was just a short walk over the road to a lovely country looking place called Ketelhuis. It was a little chilly outside however we took full advantage of the huge open fire that was lit outside and blankets that were provided on the back of each of our chairs. The food was delicious and the glass of wine helped warm us up and wash the lovely food down perfectly.

Now the highlight and favourite part of my trip had to be the bike ride around the town. I was never good on bikes as a kid and If I remember correctly had stabilisers until the age of about 15 (ha ha) so as you can image I was very nervous at first about planting my bottom back on one once again. I don’t know how but as they say knowledge comes with age for me It also came with a better understanding of balancing correctly on a bike and not falling flat on my face. At first the whole group was on the same page as me debating If it was a good Idea getting on these vintage bikes which seats were so high I felt 5 years old again not being able to touch the floor. Being pleasantly surprised we all thoroughly enjoyed the experience and had a sing song along the way.

Arriving back in the centre of Eindhoven town we parked our bikes up and went back to the safer option of foot while walking around some great boutique fashion stores where we met some lovely owners who treated us to some education on how they started their businesses and how they have managed to keep their shops successfully going for so many years.

After many hours of walking and cycling the town there was no better way to finish off the day than a trip to a local Spa Aqua for a nice foot massage. The spa was one of the nicest building I have seen, providing many services for men and woman and a perfect spot for the locals to come and relax after a long day at work or even just a few hours break from the kids.

Heading back out after some well earned down time spent In the hotel, where we had a chance to spruce ourselves up, we went to a charming restaurant in the heart of Eindhoven called Valencia. It was very elegant inside and offered a delicious mediterranean cuisine menu. The whole team around one table gave off a lovely family feel as the day really brought us all together as group. The manager recommended we went for the tapas menu which offered some yummy prawns, oysters and to top it off a very delicious Macaron with Ice cream for desert.

Eindhoven has some amazing spots to visit and I would defiantly recommend you head over for a weekend away to check it out for yourself.
